Breaktime Snack & Water
It has been the established practice of the school (for a number of years) that only fruit and vegetables should constitute snacks for children during morning breaktimes.
EYFS + KS1 children have been receiving free fruit and vegetables through a government scheme which has been in operation since 2004. Once children move through into KS2 this practice of encouraging healthy eating continues.
As a school we are very proactive with encouraging healthy eating and this sits very well with the National agenda of encouraging children to eat 5 pieces of fruit or vegetables every day.
We therefore only allow children to consume a piece of fruit or vegetables during morning breaktimes in both KS1 and KS2. Anything else other than fruit or vegetables (i.e. cereal bars, chocolate, confectionary etc.) is not allowed.
Please remember we are a NUT FREE school due to allergies.
Please also only send your child in with water in their water bottle.
